Main Purpose of the Role As a Buyer, you will be part of the procurement and buying team, supporting the wider business in delivering ongoing value while managing a critical supplier base. During busy periods, you may be required to assist the team with additional administrative duties. This role requires you to work cohesively and communicate with multiple departments across the company. Roles and Responsibilities 1) Implement and optimise inventory management systems to maintain stock levels and reduce lead times for key lines. 2) Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable agreements. Check and maintain stock reports and place orders based on requirements. 3) Research and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers. 4) Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and improved service levels. 5) Support new product development by sourcing materials and components in line with project requirements. 6) Raise purchase orders (POs) and manage the procurement process from request to delivery. 7) Source materials, goods, and services in line with specifications and standards. 8) Address and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, faulty goods, or supplier disputes. 9) Perform ad hoc duties as required. 10) Book collection and delivery requirements with the transport team.
