Dale Farm is a leading dairy company supplying a wide range of branded consumer products and food ingredients into the UK, Irish and international markets. We wish to fill this key position at our major cheese, whey and liquid processing plant at Dunmanbridge near Cookstown.
Shift Engineering Technician - Dunman
As a Shift Engineering Technician you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing best in class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. Your role is to optimise production performance, quality and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs. Shift pattern will be 3 on 3 off 12 hour shifts. You will work rotating days and nights, and will also be expected to cover holidays/absence when required.
Duties will include:
1. Provide engineering support / repair (breakdown, PM, improvement) to on site manufacturing equipment, primarily on a 3 on / 3 off 12 hour days & nights shift pattern (6-6).
2. Provide sickness and holiday cover to support wider engineering team.
3. Carry out CMMS scheduled PPM tasks to help minimize equipment failure rates.
4. Help to optimise the performance of all machinery, plant, buildings and services to minimise machine down time and optimise OEE.
5. Work alongside production colleagues to optimise process set up and control system configurations to achieve maximum yield and process control performance.
6. Develop and work on effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, responding timely and proactively to plant and equipment faults.
7. Through structured continuous improvement devise initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs and implement engineering projects as appropriate.
8. Support the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
9. Adhere to the company’s health, safety, environmental and personal standards policies.
10. Ensure accurate and full record keeping of all work is carried out.
11. Care for tools and equipment provided, ensuring that on completion of a task that equipment and/or work area is left in a clean and safe condition.
12. Work as part of an inter-dependent team with flexibility to take on all other reasonable tasks.
Specific Experience & Education Required:
1. Candidates should have undertaken an engineering apprenticeship / training programme with a recognised UK qualification.
2. A minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Highly motivated and have the ability to perform in a highly challenging, expanding and pressurised environment.
4. Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).
5. Excellent problem-solving skills.
6. IT Literate.
Desirable:
1. Experience of working in the food Industry.
2. PLC experience.
3. Strong mechanical mindset.
