About the Role:
\
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Shift Technician to join our team in Sheffield.
\
The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a shift basis to support electrical operations in a heavy engineering plant, maintaining and repairing motors and drives, performing fault finding on electronic cards down to component level, and more.
\
Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and repair motors and drives
\
2. Perform fault finding on electronic cards down to component level
\
3. Maintain mill thyristor drives
\
4. Conduct electrical maintenance on overhead DC and AC cranes
\
5. Maintain PLC systems, particularly ABB and Allen Bradley
\
6. Use programming tools to diagnose PLC faults and adjust parameters as needed
\
7. Monitor and maintain furnace control systems, including calibrating controllers, replacing thermocouples, and managing furnace lighting procedures
\
8. Respond to breakdowns, quickly and safely identifying faults to minimise production downtime
\
9. HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
\
10. Basic knowledge of PC-based software, including Excel
\
11. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
\
12. Experience writing detailed shift activity reports
\
13. Familiarity with safety legislation related to operations and electrical maintenance
\
14. Skilled in following Safe Working Procedures (SWPs), risk assessments, Isolation & Immobilisation procedures, permit systems, and IEE regulations
