We have a new opportunity to be part of the Quality team in the role of Mechanical Inspection Team Leader.
As our Mechanical Inspection Team Leader, you will work collaboratively within the supply chain to instil best practices and continuously improve our approach to Quality Assurance across the team. You will be responsible for ensuring that both internally and externally manufactured components meet the required standards and design specifications. This includes accurately recording non-conformances and providing essential support to the supply chain to drive improvements in quality and performance.
You will be responsible for:
* Managing the efficient day-to-day running of the department to meet the demands of the wider business, ensuring clear communication regarding Quality matters throughout the supply chain in a timely manner.
* Advising on and providing (where required) procedures and processes to enable the team to maintain full compliance of quality.
* Advising on, introducing (where required) and maintaining quality standards documentation, applicable to the department.
* Communicating with Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing and Design Office to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes have been carried out to the standard required, and deviations are recorded and communicated.
* Standardising AMR’s reporting process throughout the inspection team to ensure the design team receives accurate data to work with and in the same formats.
* Maintaining accurate records of non-conforming components and supporting the supply chain in preventing reoccurrence through Quality Assurance activities.
* Ensuring that team members are all trained to the required level and advising on any training requirements as required.
* Maintaining and developing skill levels to industry standard and maintaining current and thorough working knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* Possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
* Possess a thorough understanding of Measurement techniques, alignment structures and software. This is to include PC-DMIS Levels 1 and 2 both online and offline at a high level. Polyworks at a high level.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Absolute arms, Shadowgraphs, Contour Tracers, and handheld measuring equipment.
* The ability to read technical drawings and manufacturing processes, including GD&T.
* Previous experience working as a Team Leader within a Quality Assurance department or similar in a Formula One environment / high-level Motorsport environment would be advantageous.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
* Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
