Cummins Mellor are recruiting an Accounts Administrator to join a family-run business in Burnley. This is an opportunity for the right person to support the Finance Manager with transactional finance duties. We're seeking a go-getter who thrives on organisation, attention to detail, and a passion for both accounting principles and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Invoice Processing: Be the maestro of end-to-end invoicing, ensuring precision and on-time delivery to our valued clients.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Navigate through payments, reconcile accounts, and contribute to the seamless management of accounts receivable and payable (350 invoices/month). Chasing payments.
3. Bank Reconciliation & VAT Return: Perform the financial balancing act with regular bank reconciliations, maintaining a flawless record.
4. Record-Keeping: Keep our financial records up to date, from receipts to invoices and everything in between, setting up new client accounts.
5. Be proactive in identifying and investigating any financial anomalies.
The Ideal Candidate
1. Experience: Knowledge of working in a similar role with a strong background in accounting.
2. Software: Command knowledge in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and the Microsoft Office suite is essential for the role including Excel.
3. Detail-Oriented: Weave accuracy into every task with meticulous attention to detail.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Self-Starter: Be confident as a self-starter, embracing challenges and opportunities.
