A school supporting students with special educational needs is in need of a learning support assistant to join their close-knit team. This job will commence after October half term and there are both full-time and part time opportunities. You will be expected to be available between Monday - Friday, term time only, during the hours of 08:30 - 15:30.
The school supports students across key stages 2 - 4 who all have an EHCP. Their main need is in relation to social, emotional and mental health challenges but may have other associated needs such as autism and ADHD. Due to the needs of the students, you must be incredibly confident and resilient in dealing with challenging behaviour.
Role Overview:
* Support learning: Assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons, adapting materials and providing 1:1 or small group support to students
* Encourage development: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students’ social and emotional wellbeing
* Collaborate: Working closely with teachers, parents and other staff members to develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s) and track student progress
* Engage and inspire: Use creative and innovative methods to engage students in their learning, helping them to overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements
