Requirements
You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).
Responsibilities
Primarily to review the needs of older people in care home settings, ensuring their needs and rights are met and to provide a care management service when this is required.
The Individual
You will have a working knowledge of assessing and reviewing needs and service provision; experience and commitment to working within the values of Social Work and within a legislative framework. You will have an interest in working with adults and older people and knowledge of community care and Adult Protection principles. You will have good communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to assess and review the needs of individuals; to prioritise workloads; case management; to manage your time effectively; meet challenges and use initiative. You will have negotiation and problem-solving skills; the ability to build good, trusting relationships with supported people, colleagues and other professional staff; have a history of honesty and integrity and be an effective team member. You will have confidence to challenge and manage conflict/ concern. You will be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
