Compass Changing Lives MHSTs is an early intervention and preventative mental health and emotional wellbeing service. The service delivers evidenced based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) and Early Intervention and Targeted Support Service (EITSS) are a prevention and early intervention service designed to promote good mental health and wellbeing, and to provide support to meet the mild to moderate mental health needs of children and young people (CYP) in education and community settings.
The services increase the CYPs mental health workforce and increase capacity to support pupils and students. The team works alongside education staff to develop and embed a Whole School Approach (WSA) to mental health and wellbeing at all levels in a fully integrated model with the Compass Changing Lives MHST and provides for a single point of access duty system for the county.
The service develops and delivers innovative methods to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
Main duties of the job
Working as an autonomous and accountable practitioner within a skill mix team, you will provide daily oversight including, Clinical and safeguarding decision making, safety planning and risk assessment oversight, direct and manage daily throughput of screenings to meet KPI targets. You will be responsible for daily oversight of the duty system, including oversight of all incoming referrals and progress, supporting staff, liaising with external agencies, in addition to providing advice and guidance.
The Duty Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting the development/management of the MHST/EITTS Duty system and will work alongside the Operations Manager, Clinical Operations Team and Team Lead.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
10. Core professional and/or clinical qualification) EMHP, CWP, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work) and must be committed to maintaining registration if applicable
11. Evidence of continued professional development

13. Two years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people and willingness to undertake PG Cert if required
Desirable
14. Management / supervision training
15. Therapeutic post graduate qualification (ideally in low intensity CBT)
16. Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
17. Mentorship qualification
18. Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision ( Supervisor course)
Experience

19. Two years post qualification experience of working within a CYP mental health service
20. Experience of CBT informed practice.
21. Experience of working in a community and/or educational environment
22. Evidence of clinical development in practice
23. Experience of effective engagement with CYPF
24. Risk assessment and management in the delivery of clinical services (including safeguarding)
25. Experience of working in a high demand fast paced role.
