ADAS Simulation Lead Engineer
£30/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire - 3 Months (potential for yearly renewal)
Position Description:
The Modelling & Simulation Lead Engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering state-of-the-art modelling and simulation methods and tools to validate and verify ADAS system designs. Examples of methods and tools include but are not limited to:
1. Co-simulation of ADAS systems models with vehicle dynamics and sensor models
2. Virtual reality-based user testing
3. Vehicle-based rapid prototyping of models
4. Creation of modelling & simulation standards
5. Replay of logged data through models
6. Software to enforce modelling & simulation standards
7. Automatic artefact (Requirements, test cases, and reports) creation from model database
The Modelling & Simulation Lead Engineer demonstrates exceptional understanding of:
1. Model in the loop (MIL) and Software in the loop (SIL) testing methodologies
2. ADAS simulation environments
3. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Responsibilities include:
1. Create resilient and robust systems models
2. Creation of processes and tools to validate designs through continuous integration, simulation, and rapid prototyping
3. Execute test cases at scale through SIL & MIL testing
4. Creation of processes and tools to validate the test case design against specified model behaviour and the test cases to production software
Skills Required:
1. Matlab/Simulink
2. Simulation
3. Python
Experience Required:
1. Significant Systems Engineering V-Model specifically model-based testing and design verification and validation
2. Extensive software experience, including but not limited to: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++
3. Experience operating in a DEVOPS model
4. CI/CD pipeline experience
5. Significant Automotive SPICE Process knowledge and experience
6. Good knowledge of state-of-the-art test methods and techniques
7. Good experience with test automation
8. Experience with using MIL, SIL - open and closed loop testing
9. Automotive network knowledge
10. UML/SYSML modelling experience
11. Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, with good communication skills
Experience Preferred:
1. Games engine development experience e.g., Unreal engine
2. Assisted and/or Automated Driving System Testing experience
3. ISO26262 standard knowledge
4. Experience with using HIL & VIL - open and closed loop testing
5. Experience using Vector/NI/DSpace tools
6. Virtual reality development experience
7. Simulink based rapid prototyping (Dspace, NI, Speedgoat etc.) experience
8. User trial experience testing (Human in the loop)
9. Experience working in a scaled agile organisation
