Head of Pandemic Preparedness Location: Hybrid working Contract type: Permanent Salary: £88,825 potential to rise to £104,500 over 3 years Closing Date: Friday 24th January 2925 As the Head of Pandemic Preparedness you will lead the Pandemic Operations Team and the Logistics Service Provider to ensure the requirements of the Pandemic services are delivered. The scope covers all activity related to the setup, management, and deployment of a pandemic response for PPE and other specified products. This covers the development and implementation of strategies to meet policy requirements and the maintenance of the requirements over time, ensuring they are ready and available to be called upon when needed. Lead across all teams involved in the development and implementation, including the Logistics Service Provider.to ensure all aspects of the requirements are delivered. Initially this role will also be accountable for Demand Planning. This will involve setting up a new team and running a pilot for Demand planning in some pilot categories. Depending on the outcome of the pilot and the complexity / workload involved, the role may continue to be accountable for Demand planning on an ongoing basis or, this activity may be split into a separate role. This decision will be made in conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain Planning once they are in post. Therefore previous demand planning experience is essential for this role. Make sure major suppliers in a portfolio are delivering required levels of service, in line with the overall supplier management and inventory strategy. Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals. Develop monthly and annual production plans for a significant, large number of manufacturing units in a complex production process, including dependencies with other processes/units, and contribute strongly to the development of the overall production planning framework and system Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. Contribute to the formation of a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs. Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
