The Associate Director of Operations (ADO) for Clinical Delivery Group (CDG) 1B (Emergency Medicine, Acute & Short Stay Medicine, Healthcare for Older People, Stroke and Therapies) reports directly to the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital Operations Director and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of all services within the CDG.
The ADO role is an integral member of the operational leadership team and provides leadership on operational and strategic matters within the CDG. The role is part of the CDG's triumvirate structure with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing, together ensuring that there are appropriate systems and processes to enable staff to deliver good quality clinical care, to meet key performance standards, and to deliver on the Trust's strategy.
You will need to have extensive experience at a senior level in a complex environment, with sound acute operational experience.
Main duties of the job
The ADO has overall responsibility for the operational management of the CDG, ensuring the effective implementation of national and local strategies and the delivery of service objectives within available resources.
The ADO will lead on the operational delivery of all services within the CDG, ensuring the sustainable delivery of all key performance indicators.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish and manage effective working relationships with all grades and disciplines of staff within the Trust, and with external partners to provide leadership and direction, ensuring that the CDG delivers the Trust's strategy.
