Our client seeks a contact qualified (ACA / ACCA) Accountant to assist their Financial Reporting Team for a period of 12 months.
Role Profile: Reporting to the Financial Reporting Managers, this role will be responsible for ensuring that source data used by the Financial Reporting team is delivered on time, of a high quality and able to stand up to external scrutiny. You will work with the finance and senior management team to pro-actively keep pace with accounting and regulatory development within the Group to help ensure the robustness of reported results supporting analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare internal, external and regulatory reports
2. Support the monthly close process within agreed timelines, ensuring quality and integrity of reporting
3. Work alongside the actuarial team, to understand and rationalize the results
4. Engage with management and Regulators as required to explain the results
5. Participate in project work to enhance financial reporting working alongside other members of the Finance team
Key skills and experience:
1. Qualified accountant, or very nearly qualified with experience
2. Financial reporting and management accounting experience in the insurance industry
3. Good written and verbal communication skills
4. The ability to work to challenging deadlines
