Building on the success of our long-established Carbon and Energy management teams, we are looking for an early career Environmental Consultant with experience in the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions calculation and reporting to work alongside our experienced team of consultants, supporting in the delivery of high quality project outputs to our established client base. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills and be well organised, self-motivated and effective communicators with good interpersonal skills.
The Role
Examples of projects that you would be expected to help deliver might include:
1. Greenhouse gas calculations and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions in accordance with the methodologies of the GHG Protocol.
2. Calculations and reporting to support our client in accordance with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) guidelines.
3. Supporting clients in the preparation of submissions to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
4. Development of Net Zero Carbon strategies.
5. Supporting clients in the development of targets in accordance with the methodology set out by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Past experience in the delivery of these or similar services will be viewed as an advantage.

About you
If you think this could be the right role for you, we would love to hear from you. We'd envisage that you would be able to bring/demonstrate:
* Qualified to degree-level or higher, within a relevant science or engineering-related subject.
* Member of a relevant technical body, e.g. IEMA, with a desire to work towards Chartered or Practitioner status.
* Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate directly with our clients.
* Computer literacy including familiarity with the Microsoft Office in particular MS Excel.
* Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrable interest in developing a career in the environmental, energy and/or sustainability consulting sector.
Whilst not essential, it would be great if you could also show:
* Past experience working in the environmental, sustainability or energy sector.
* Full driving licence valid in UK.
We are ideally looking for a consultant to be located in SLR's Manchester office, although other locations will be considered.
