An opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, person-centred, innovative and evidence-based dietitian to join the Cancer Care Dietitians at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a qualified dietitian to gain experience working within oncology and haematology, supporting patients with cancer in Cornwall. We are a small team who are highly valued by the MDT and patients alike, the work is varied and you will see a wide range of conditions and dietetic management strategies.
The Cancer Care dietitians provide dietetic services to patients with cancer in Cornwall who are due to, are going through, or have recently completed treatment (surgery, systemic anti-cancer therapy and radiotherapy). We work closely with the cancer MDT, wider Dietetic department and The Cove Macmillan Support Centre.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as a senior autonomous practitioner providing dietetic support and advice for patients referred to the Cancer and Palliative Care service, their carers and Health Professionals delivering a service to these people.
2. To contribute to policy development.
3. To evaluate the service, via quantitative and qualitative measures including patient experience.
4. To help to support and/or establish Research and Development and a robust Audit review of the Nutrition and Dietetic service.

Person Specification
Qualifications, training and professional membership
* Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
* Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian
* Member of the British Dietetic Association
Knowledge and Experience
* Post-registration experience including working within an acute hospital
* Experience working in oncology/haematology
* Experience managing tube fed patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting
* Experience presenting to groups including healthcare professionals and service users
* Two (2) years post-registration experience in a variety of settings/specialties
