The team...
ITVX Editorial is a team of Editors, Schedulers and Curators. All working in the ITV way to make the ITVX experience brilliant.
Put simply, it's an in-house team of streaming specialists focused on curating the ITVX service to drive viewer engagement and deliver the best possible experience.
The role...
Our exciting and busy creative team has an opportunity for an experienced Copywriting and Metadata Editor to join on a 12-month contract basis. Reporting to the Managing Editor of Channels and ITVX, you will be responsible for all editorially controlled copywriting on the ITVX service and for ensuring all content has appropriate & correct levels of metadata. Additionally, you will editorialise and merchandise content in line with agreed streaming plans.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Write & oversee synopsis information, taglines, and editorial copy for ITVX
* Responsible for all editorial metadata, including programme synopses, episode descriptions, identifying key cast and creatives, and ensuring that genres, sub-genres, keywords and other metadata are consistently applied to content
* Overseeing the tagging of all content & creating customer-facing tags if needed
* Taking a lead in the editorialisation of content - merchandising & building future collections
* Responsible for regularly refreshing several genre collections
* Assist other ITV stakeholders in ensuring that better metadata is supplied by producers & distributors to improve metadata in core systems
* Play an active role in briefing other teams on the latest streaming plans, with a particular focus on marketing, PR & social and liaising with them over messaging for ITVX
* Play an active role in ITV's wider metadata improvement programme
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)...
* A proven track record in writing clear and engaging copy, ideally for a UK broadcaster/VOD service
* Knowledge and passion for TV and Film content with the ability to communicate complex information to viewers in a clear & engaging way
* Experience in handling sensitive information and dealing with other confidential matters

* Ability to build good relationships with other teams within ITV

* Capable of identifying challenges and developing effective solutions
