Position Overview:
The Design Engineer will play a critical role in conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing structural projects that utilize advanced steel. The ideal candidate will be proficient in leveraging high-performance steel materials to create efficient and innovative designs across a range of industries, from civil infrastructure to commercial and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Design & Analysis: Develop detailed structural designs using advanced steel materials, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode, AISC, BS).
2. Material Application: Utilize knowledge of advanced steel alloys, high-strength steels, and performance-based design to optimize structural solutions.
3. 3D Modeling & Simulation: Create and analyze 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla Structures, or equivalent tools. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations to predict performance.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
5. Innovation: Research and implement emerging technologies and techniques in advanced steel design and fabrication processes.
6. Project Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure accurate documentation and version control.
7. Quality Assurance: Review designs and calculations, ensuring structural integrity, durability, and compliance with project requirements.
