Personal Assistant-Chorley area
Do you have some spare time each week to make a difference in a young boy’s life? If so, we are looking for someone to support a 10-year-old Deaf boy with autism, who wears cochlear implants.
As his PA you will act as his friend and mentor. You will support his social, emotional and communication development by taking him out in the evenings and at the weekend. This is a very rewarding role, and there is an opportunity to practice and improve your BSL. You will need to be a keen learner who likes to share in activities and experiences. Outings will include local clubs, swimming, cycling, country walks, and trips to different places.
Do you have experience of supporting Deaf children? And children with Autism? If so we would like to hear from you. An ability to communicate in British Sign Language at Level 1 or above or relevant experience is essential. A driver with a full clean license is beneficial as there is access to a car for outings.
This is a part time position, up to 10 hours per week evenings and weekends to be discussed and arranged to suit both the employer, child and PA. The hourly rate is £11.44 per hour.
