About the Role: As Customer Category Manager for Tesco, you’ll act as a key partner to Tesco, Booker, and One Stop, using category insight to support joint business growth. Working closely with Trade Marketing and Sales, you’ll deliver objective, data-led recommendations to drive distribution, share of shelf, and range optimisation. You’ll support range reviews, influence NPD plans, and help shape Ferrero’s in-store execution through clear merchandising principles. This role is central to building strong, insight-driven customer relationships and delivering our long-term category vision. Main Responsibilities: As Customer Category Manager – Tesco, you’ll play a critical role in driving category growth by turning insights into strategic action across Tesco, Booker, and One Stop. You’ll take ownership of category performance analysis—monitoring market, shopper, and consumer trends to identify growth opportunities and ensure Ferrero’s strategies are aligned with customer and category objectives. You’ll be responsible for delivering regular period reporting, managing data changes, and ensuring relevant insights are clearly communicated with impactful “so-what” analysis. Partnering with key insight agencies, including loyalty data providers, you’ll collaborate to generate meaningful shopper and category intelligence that informs decision-making across the business. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll lead and support Tesco range reviews by identifying distribution opportunities, managing key event analysis, and ensuring Ferrero is well positioned for future category changes. You’ll also own the development and execution of sell-in stories for innovation and range extensions—bringing them to life with compelling commercial rationale tailored to customer priorities. Building strong, independent relationships with customer category teams will be key, as well as driving cross-functional collaboration internally to ensure alignment on priorities, plans, and opportunities. This is a strategic, insight-led role that blends analysis, storytelling, and collaboration to help shape Ferrero’s in-store and at-shelf presence across a major customer portfolio. Who we are looking for: We’re looking for a candidate with proven experience in Category Management within the FMCG sector, ideally with a background in working on retailer-facing projects—particularly with Tesco or similar key accounts. A strong understanding of category dynamics, market trends, and consumer behaviour is essential to succeed in this role. You should be confident using tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, Circana, or loyalty platforms like dunnhumby to gather and analyse market and shopper data. The ability to turn insights into compelling sell-in stories and strategic recommendations will be key. Experience working within the FMCG environment, especially in areas such as in-store activation, shelf presence, or range reviews, is highly valued. Proficiency in Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite is expected, as you’ll be working with data to inform and influence decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborator, capable of building effective relationships both internally and with customer contacts. You should have a commercial mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the confidence to influence decisions through insight and storytelling. A working knowledge of market, shopper, and consumer insight providers—including loyalty data platforms and shopper behaviour tools—will also be a strong advantage. How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero: Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. So, to be successful at Ferrero, you’ll need to be just as consumer and product centric as we are - dedicated to crafting brilliant results for consumers around the world. We encourage all our people to think creatively to set personal targets and objectives and push new, better ways to work. Employee contribution and engagement at Ferrero is based on three dimensions: individual, team and organisation that’s why you should have the ability to work independently, proactively and as a team member. Demonstrate great organising skills and an ability to collaborate will help you in building your position among stakeholders and achieve team goals.
