Info about what the Reliability Engineer role entails An exciting opportunity, a new role within this global business to establish from scratch a reliability function. The department is a blank sheet with lots of opportunity for an expert in reliability to stamp their authenticity on it and guide the business. You will be keen to take on this unique technical challenge as they push scientific boundaries regarding operating temperatures, breaking new ground in reliability engineering with this exciting portfolio of products. Typical activities include answering questions for customers around modelling and data. Observing testing, component engineering, development and execution of reliability test plans, review of technical data sheets, collaboration with design teams, examining failures, Continuous improvement activities etc. Essential Requirements of the Reliability Engineer A good Engineering degree (mechanical engineering, electronics engineering etc) Experience in electronics / electro-mechanical development - know how electronics components work e.g. capacitors, resistors and how they are impacted by extreme conditions (high-temperature electronic hybrid designs) over long periods of time.
