Purpose of the role
OCO Global’s advisory division supports our clients with a range of analytics, research and strategy development – combining a data driven approach with first-hand insights.
Operating at the intersection of business and government, we bring clarity, transparency and intuition to industry-specific trade and investment environments in a rapidly changing and complex geopolitical landscape.
The advisory division support a wide range of clients globally, from national & regional economic development agencies through to private sector industry seeking support on international expansion.
Key responsibilities
Under the management and direction of the Advisory Manager, the role will involve:
Delivering great work for our clients through high quality research, analysis and communication:
* Assist with the creation of client-facing deliverables
* Monitor and check work to ensure high quality standards, identify mistakes and take appropriate action for future work
* Understand and clearly articulate the research question and the problem at hand
* Identify the problem and consider potential solutions
* Conduct research to identify key data points and high-level trends
* Collect and compile data into consistent formats so that it can be easily analysed
* Produce reports and summaries of research undertaken, identifying areas which may be of interest to the client/s
Winning profitable work for the company through customer focus and commercial awareness:
* Develop a good understanding of the client’s needs and make client’s needs a primary focus
* Identify and raise issues to the relevant person internally to ensure appropriate action is taken
* Learn from feedback to ensure OCO continuously provides a quality service
* Develop a clear understanding of OCO’s services and clients
* Understand individual KPIs for projects and behaviours OCO are seeking to drive
Improve your knowledge and skills through effective communication, planning and organisation:
* Confidently and proactively use both verbal and written communication to communicate to clients and colleagues
* Organise own time and work effectively to meet various competing deadlines
* Advise colleagues or manager early of any obstacles to work delivery

* Demonstrate openness to changing work priorities, circumstances and deadlines

* Collaborate effectively with other team members to solve problems across markets and Divisions
Essential Criteria
* Third level degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Economics, Geography (other disciplines will be considered where candidates can demonstrate core skills required).
* Strong research and analytical skills
* Up to date knowledge of and ability to locate key sources of information
* Ability to process large volumes of data
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Displays initiative in taking greater responsibility without being asked
* Demonstrated ability to problem solve
* Experience of Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working in inward investment and understanding of FDI processes highly desirable.
* Experience of working in a similar research role
