It is exciting time to join WUTH as we are underway with the Urgent and Emergency Care Upgrade Programme as we redevelop our Emergency Department at Arrowe Park Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post(s) is designed to support an experienced Emergency Medicine Speciality Doctor in the Emergency Department based at Arrowe Park Hospital. The post is ideally suited for applicants wishing to pursue speciality doctor career in Emergency Medicine or to gain further experience prior to applying for a training post.
Working as part of a 24hr middle tier rota, the post holder will be expected to independently assess and manage Emergency Department presentations (in adults and children). This will be under the supervision of the duty Consultant from the hours of 0800 to 0000 and with telephone access to the on-call consultant out of hours, who would return to base as required.

Professional Qualifications
Essential
1. Full registration with the General Medical Council.
Desirable
2. MCEM or Higher qualification in a related specialty ( MRCP).
Clinical Skills and Experience
Essential
3. Shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
4. Minimum of 12 months working in Emergency Medicine
5. Minimum of 12 months working for an NHS organisation
6. Minimum of 3 months in Anaesthesia and/or Intensive Care Medicine
7. Experience of working in Paediatrics - general or emergency medicine
8. Can demonstrate successful completion of foundation competencies or equivalent
