About the role:

This is your opportunity to make a genuine difference as an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in ASD at an outstanding primary school in Barnet, London. As an SEN-TA specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder, you’ll work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support students with ASD in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Application Requirements:
• Have prior experience working with children with ASD.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Are adaptable, patient, and proactive in their approach.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ideally hold a relevant qualification, although experience will be prioritised.
Key Responsibilities:
• Building strong relationships with pupils to understand their unique needs.
• Encouraging independence and confidence in students’ learning.
• Supporting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Assisting with social skills development and fostering positive peer relationships.
• Managing and diffusing challenging behaviours effectively.
