We are currently working with a client who is looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.
This is a full-time, hybrid working role with a starting salary of £32,500, rising to £35,000 on completion of probation.
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for month-end and year-end accounts reporting. You will be working alongside the wider finance department to assist with and develop the day-to-day processes, controls, and all matters arising that contribute towards the quality of both the inflow and outflow of information from the department.

The role:
* Delivering high-quality financial information, including preparing monthly management accounts, cash flow reports, and supporting the development of annual capital and revenue budgets.
* Managing, supporting, and enhancing the team’s day-to-day accounting processes, including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Cash Management operations.
* Leading and optimising the department's credit control processes.
* Playing a key role in facilitating the monthly payroll processes.
* Assisting the Head of Finance by providing necessary information for the annual audit.
* Collaborating with internal departments such as Operations, HR, QA, and Business Development to enhance the quality of financial data exchange and promote greater commercial awareness.
* Partnering with the Head of Finance on key departmental projects and initiatives to drive operational and financial efficiency.
* Engaging in forward-looking projects with the Head of Finance, including business modelling and strategic planning.
Management Accounting:
* Manage month-end processes to ensure timely completion within agreed deadlines.
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and balance sheet schedules; collaborate with budget holders to investigate and address budget variances.
* Provide detailed financial reports and forecasts to budget holders, including analysis of overspending and opportunities for improvement.
* Work closely with the Head of Finance to implement changes to financial systems, enhance financial controls, and identify cost and resource savings.
About you:
As a Management Accountant, we are looking for someone who can carry out tasks to a high standard, and can multitask, working well within a team. This role is perfect if you are flexible in your approach to work, ensuring you contribute effectively to the overall service.
Qualifications and experience:
* Part Qualified, for example ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, DoChM or demonstrably Qualified by Experience.
* Relevant experience in a similar role (minimum 18 months).
* Production of management accounts and financial reports and analysis.
* Management of month-end close out processes including balance sheet schedules and reconciliation.
* Managing and maintaining effective and consistent credit control processes.
* Used to working in a demanding environment and providing accurate and timely information to a high standard.
* Strong Excel skills to work with and analyse raw data (Pivots and Lookups as a baseline minimum standard).
