Azenta are seeking a Plastic Consumables Development Engineer to join our C&I Engineering Group. This position will be responsible for the development and technical project leadership of various plastic and seal products, including tubes, plates, and seals.

The role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle from technology research and feasibility studies to patent activities and product implementation. The engineer will also provide technical support for quality control, product management, and customer feedback, ensuring high standards in plastic consumable products.

What You Will Do:
* Product Development and Project Leadership: Lead development projects for plastic and seal products, including tubes, plates, and seals.
* Technology Research and Feasibility Studies: Conduct research on relevant technologies, assess feasibility, and manage patent screening. Identify opportunities for proprietary patents.
* Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
* Testing and Quality Control: Develop and implement new quality control testing procedures for plastics and seal products, updating them as needed.
* Technical Expertise: Act as the technical expert supporting Product Management and Quality teams. Generate data for technical validation and testing.
* Product Complaint Support: Provide third-level support for product complaints, including comparative testing and analysis.
* Benchmark and Certification Testing: Conduct and coordinate benchmark testing, data generation, and certification processes in collaboration with external testing sites when necessary.
What You Will Bring:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plastics Technology / Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Plastics Technology, or a degree as a Technician with relevant plastics technology experience:
* Solid knowledge of injection moulding technology and plastic-friendly component design.
* Proficiency in CAD software and experience with the industrialization and production of integrated assemblies in controlled environments.
* Expertise in error-cause analysis for injection-moulded components.
* Experience: Proven experience in the development, industrialization, and production of plastic components and assemblies.
Soft Skills:
High self-motivation and quick learning ability.
Strong communication skills with a passion for interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration.
Fluent in English
