Warehouse Assistant
Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension
Location: Portlethen
Pay Rate: £12.82 p/hr
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. 37.5hrs
As Warehouse Assistant with our client your job role will encompass; Receipt, Issuance, Locate, Pick, and despatch all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System. During the execution of this role there will be a requirement to use mechanical handling equipment and hand tools also following process and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement. A good degree of conscientious accuracy when processing shipments is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Processing deliveries entering the warehouse, physically checking and counting parts for accuracy against paperwork.
· Able to Identify discrepancies, reporting damaged/incorrect deliveries to management.
· Using matching traceability codes to locate stock for picking orders
· Empty general waste & recycle bins, maintain a high standard of general housekeeping where required.
· Assist with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.
· Operates various storage and transport equipment, i.e., Pallet trucks & trolleys
· Responsible for complying with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements
· Participate in our clients Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace
· Participate in on-call rota as required
· Responsible for carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements
· To support the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as and when required

Qualifications
Essential:
· Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent
Desirable:
· Technical qualification related to the job role
· Basic IT skills with word/excel
Experience
Desirable:
· Use of ERP Systems
· Experience within a warehouse environment
Skills, training, or special knowledge
Essential:
· Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft/ application.
· Good communication skills
Desirable:
· Practical training on all essential workshop lifting equipment incl. Overhead Crane and Forklift trucks
