Position Overview
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at the Fuel Production Site (High Marnham), ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation: Install electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and control systems, according to technical drawings and specifications, including hydrogen production equipment (electrolysers, compressors).
2. Testing: Conduct thorough testing of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety, using testing instruments to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
3. Commissioning: Commission electrical systems to meet operational requirements and industry standards. Complete necessary documentation and reports.
4. Supervise and approve work by electrical fitters and subcontractors.
5. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems to ensure ongoing functionality and compliance with safety regulations. Conduct fault diagnosis and repair of hydrogen production equipment.
6. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, tests, and commissioning activities. Assist Fuel Production Engineering Team with the design of site electrical systems.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Previous experience in electrical installation, testing, and commissioning is required.
2. Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
4. Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments and tools.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills.
6. Relevant electrical certifications (e.g., City and Guilds installation level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).
7. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is required.
8. Full UK driving licence.
9. CompEx Ex01-Ex04 certified.
