INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN (PERMANENT ROLE - 3:4 ROTATION)
Our client is looking for an experienced Instrument Technician on a permanent basis (3on/4off rotation). FPSO experience is preferred.
The Instrument Technician is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient functioning of the DCS, control systems and all its associated equipment, performing preventative and corrective maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively. Additionally, assisting in specific areas of the production operation as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating all instrumentation installed on the installation.
2. Repairing and calibrating all fire and gas systems.
3. Repairing and maintaining all electronic control systems.
4. Regularly inspecting the Instrumentation system to ensure correct operation of the equipment associated with the DCS, F&G and ESD systems including portable equipment.
5. Direct liaison with Kongsberg for technical assistance as and when required.
6. Implementing and following through of Planned Maintenance routines and Corrective Maintenance work orders from the Maximo Maintenance Management System (MMS) for all instrumentation.
7. Ensuring all applicable equipment adheres to intrinsically safe codes of practice.
8. Maintaining operational effectiveness of computer LAN (Local Area Networks) onboard installation.
9. Efficient and economic use of spare equipment and administration of Maximo Maintenance Management System (MMS).
10. Completing all Training as directed by the company including Onboard Familiarisation.
11. Ensuring continuous compliance with the Clients competency assessment procedure.
12. Carrying out ATEX inspections as directed.
13. Performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
14. Standing in as Instrument Lead as required.
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRITICAL ACTIVITIES:
1. Ensuring functionality of F&G, ESD and DCS systems.
2. Calibration of process level transmitters.
3. Electronic work in hazardous areas.
4. Maintenance and Calibration of Oil in Water Monitors.
5. Maintenance of DCS.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE DUTIES:
1. Muster Checker.
2. Offshore Emergency Response Team Member.
3. Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting and HUET Certificate.
2. MIST / IMIST.
3. Oil & Gas UK Offshore Medical Certificate.
4. Oil & Gas UK Certificate of Fitness to Participate in Emergency Response Team Duties.
5. Recognised certificate in Instrumentation/Electronics.
