We have an opportunity for a Registered Service Manager join our team and oversee Napier Lodge, a purpose built, highly specialised 23 bedded care home in Waterlooville. The home will focus on supporting males with wide variety of complex and challenging needs, including:
• neuro degenerative conditions
• mental health diagnosis
• acquired brain injury presentations
• varying degrees of physical disabilities
As service manager you will lead a dedicated team, drive excellence in care, and be part of an organization that prioritizes growth, wellbeing, and high-quality performance.
Key responsibilities of the Service Manager role will include:
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
• Train, supervise, and appraise staff, fostering a motivated and high-performing team.
• Coordinate staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
• Ensure full compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Oversee Health and Safety at Work, COSHH Regulations, and ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular health and safety walks to maintain a safe and suitable environment for service users.
• Uphold CQC requirements, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently met.
• Monitor and evaluate the day-to-day care of service users, ensuring their needs are met.
• Coordinate and facilitate service user reviews, ensuring their care plans are regularly updated.
• Ensure medication is administered as prescribed and reviewed regularly by medical staff.
• Manage and coordinate treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring timely updates and efficient use of resources.
• Conduct regular medication audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide out-of-hours on-call support on a rotational basis to ensure continuous care.
About you, the successful Service Manager
• Experience running similar services
• Experience achieving CQC rating of Good or higher
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using evidence based approaches.
• Ability to prioritise workload and delegate where possible
• Ability to supervise, teach and mentor Qualified and Unqualified Staff
• Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
• (Desirable) Knowledge of the Hampshire Commissioning Landscape
