You will be working for a well-established and award-winning group with a UK head office and 14 African sites. The group is made up of 4-5 legal entities and an independent charity, with the management & financial strategy for the group being managed from their Salisbury-based head office in the UK (offering sensible WFH options). Thepany has recentlymenced a strategy of digital transformation, using technology wherever possible to guide itsmercial strategy with meaningful, visible data and streamlining processes wherever possible.
As a result, the business is seeking to enhance its Finance function in a way that can best support the business through its next exciting period of growth, hence they are looking to appoint an ambitious Finance Manager to support the CFO and the Group Head of Financial Reporting. You will be working with a highly motivated and secure management team, including the founders, who are extremely passionate about the group’s success.
Your new role
This job requires a hands-on Finance Manager, with experience operating in an SME environment, toplete the financial management, accounting and taxpliance (with expert tax advice available) for the UK entities, overseeing a small finance team in the UK. You will be preparing the UK monthly management accounts, including analysis andmentary, to be consolidated into the wider group. As well as working with key departments (eg sales, marketing etc) to provide meaningful business intelligence and analysis, driving collaborative decision-making and supporting the annual budget process for the UK entities. You will also be responsible for the VAT filings and leading the year-end accounts preparation for the UK entities and the statutory audit process. Overseeing the team which are processing AP, AR and general ledger transactions, ensuring adequate controls and driving efficiency where possible.
What you'll need to succeed
1. You will be a qualified accountant with a proactive, confident and forward-thinking approach, with excellentmunication and problem-solving skills.
2. You will have proven experience working in broad finance roles across management and statutory accounting within SME businesses, ideally with international/multi-currency experience.
3. You will have strongmercial and analytical skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
4. You will have good IT skills, including Excel, and experience of Xero would be useful, but it is not essential.
