We are seeking an Expert Case Manager who is passionate about supporting our postgraduate workforce to reach their full potential and provide safe patient care.
The team provides a single point of access, via a confidential 1-1 meeting (currently virtual), to external resources such as counselling, exam support, coaching, dyslexia screening. We use a coaching approach to understand the key concerns of the individual and signpost accordingly.
Other key aspects include assisting with the development and delivery of workshops, webinars and other group support initiatives, and being involved in the continuous evaluation and development of the service.
We have offices based in Plymouth, Taunton and Bristol (although we currently work virtually). We hope in the future to return to hybrid working.
The role of Expert Case Manager involves working with Associate Deans, Senior Faculty Development & Learner Support (FDLS) team members and faculty members internally and externally across the South West to provide the best service possible and align with the values and goals of NHS England South West.
The team has close links with the Quality Team, Faculty Development & Learner Support Team and Supported Return to Training Team, to enhance the development of a fair, inclusive and compassionate NHS culture.

Key areas of responsibility will include:
• Supportive 1:1 meetings
• Development of supervisors in their role to support resident doctors in training and support for local education providers.
• Support development and implementation of strategies and plans.
• Role will involve the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams
• Work and develop links with postgraduate training providers and trusts to enhance supportive ways of working.
• Support the senior PSW and FDLS team to develop a central service within the PSW that brings together the existing relevant elements of the NHS England mandate
• Collaborate and communicate with other NHS England departments and teams on a regular basis to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Be willing to play a multifunctional role within PSW relating to case management, database management, evaluation, quality metrics and liaison with other providers
• Support the on-going evaluation of the PSW service
• Contribute to planning, developing and evaluating methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting, and presenting information.
• Co-ordinate as appropriate research and development initiatives
• Contribute to short, medium and long term business plans, achieving quality outcomes.
• Support the development/updating of resources for example producing resources, support webinar.
