The ASK Programme
CXK is the lead deliverer of the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge programme in the south of England. Known concisely as “ASK,” the programme is funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company (The CEC) to support schools and colleges with educating students (and their parents) about apprenticeships and technical education pathways. We achieve this by providing assemblies and workshops, harnessing reputable information from the Department for Education, Amazing Apprenticeships, apprentice employers and approved training providers.
The Team
The ASK team at CXK is small but impactful. Last year, CXK led the south region to engage more than 800 schools and colleges in over 4,000 activities, achieving over 200,000 engagements with individual students and parents, with 98% of schools/colleges rating the provision as “good” or “excellent.”
We lead a network of partner organisations and simultaneously employ a small team of Apprenticeships Advisers directly. Collectively, staff and partners facilitate the ASK activities in their allocated areas of the south. One such area is Kent and Medway, for which we are delighted to invite new applications to join our team as an additional employed member of staff.
The Role
The Apprenticeships Adviser will travel across Kent and Medway to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering informative and engaging assemblies and workshops for students and parents. Sharing your knowledge of apprenticeships and technical education pathways, you will inspire and empower people to consider such options.
Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities. You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most activities will take place between 8:30am and 3:30pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.
We would require you to work three days-a-week (22.2 hours) with a pro rata holiday entitlement.
