Job Purpose & Scope As a Business Analyst your responsibilities will include: • Understand and analyse the business line's needs in one or more functional areas, with the aim of developing the IS with appropriate and sustainable solutions that are consistent with the entity's strategic plan and the associated portfolio of requests. • Ensure that the solution meets the requirements set out to cover the business line's needs • Act as the contact person within the initiative or maintenance teams and for the business line in relation to data and functional aspects. The Business Analyst will be involved in some or all of the following activities: Understands and analyses the business line's needs in one or more functional areas, with the aim of developing the Information System with appropriate and sustainable solutions that are consistent with the entity's strategic plan and the associated portfolio of requests. • Contributes to preliminary studies in liaison with the business line • Helps, where appropriate, to monitor the portfolio and prioritise requests within his/her scope of activity • Clarifies, performs critical and constructive analysis and, where appropriate, compares the business line's needs against the entity's strategic plan Ensures that the solution meets the requirements set out to cover the business line's needs • Formalises the expression of need and ensures it is approved by the business line • Defines, formalises and obtains approval of the requirements set out to cover the expression of need in collaboration with the contributors involved, in accordance with the entity's practices • Carries out or helps with the test activities within his/her functional scope • Supports the business line in carrying out user tests • Contributes, in conjunction with the business line, to change management and roll out for the end customer • Helps to identify business line impacts generated by the solution and with the development of action plans Acts as the contact person within the project and/ or maintenance teams and for the business line in relation to data and functional aspects • Shares knowledge about his/her area of expertise and provides functional support • Carries out reporting in accordance with the operating rules and practices defined for the scope • Helps with the coordination of user communities Key Responsibilities Advanced level professional accountable for providing excellence within their relevant specialism and providing professional input to complex assignments / projects. Defines and evolves new practises to improve the functional area and better operational efficiency. Provides expert advice to enhance the design and utilisation of new solutions. Acts as a focal point between IT and the business for their team. Acts as a point of escalation for more junior staff. Manages medium sized projects or acts as a key resource in large-scale projects. Delivers projects within quality, time and budget constraints. Manages relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to ensure that a high-quality integrated service is provided on time and to budget. Liaise with team members to capture business requirements. The Requirements Good working knowledge of a wide range of Risk/IT and companywide policies, procedures, regulations and legislation; knowledge of best practices in risk management processes. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and provide specialist guidance and advice to others. Strong people management skills and an ability to work with individuals to set individual objectives and manage performance to ensure their delivery. Proven commercial and communication / relationship management skills. Ability to liaise with junior and senior stakeholders to act as bridging point. Strong prior experience of using complex and diverse IT systems. Results orientated with a clear understanding of how the results impact the business counterparts.
