A rare but exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 registered nurse to join the Occupational health team to support with the clinical needs of the service. This is a great way to build a career within Occupational health and on the job training and support will be offered.
Main duties of the job
To provide support to help achieve a comprehensive Occupational Health Service within agreed remit to all managers and staff
To assist the Trust in promoting and maintaining the health of staff
To ensure health issues are dealt with in a professional manner within the post holder's area of competence
To advise, within own area of knowledge and competence, service users in regard to their health, safety and welfare at work
Support the delivery of Occupational Health Services to NHS clients and commercial employers within the remit of the contract specified

Job responsibilities
To support and assist the OH team to deliver the workload in an effective manner.
Represent the department at Trust and other agency forums deputising for the OH Nurse Consultant / HR Business Development Manager when required
Actively take part in and support Directorate initiatives and issues
Use clinical skills and knowledge to provide specialist advice and support to peer group staff, clients and service managers
Act as a clinical expert and positive role model for all staff
Provide professional leadership, advice and guidance to nursing and non-nursing staff, within the nursing environment and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines
Lead in the development of clinical standards ensuring these are set, embedded and monitored in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the senior OH team
Monitor agreed quality improvement metrics to support compliance with local and external practice standards NHS Plus, cold chain monitoring etc
Support the OH Nurse Consultant / HR Business Development Manager in ensuring that workload is prioritised and managed effectively
Participate in audit and research programmes appropriate to the advancement of the service as required
With senior staff, identify and minimise clinical and non-clinical risk issues reporting to the senior team
Implementation of action plans to address areas which fall below acceptable standards
To always act in a professional manner in accordance with the NMC guidelines. Safe, efficient and effective administration of medicines in accordance with the NMC guidelines
Ensure that accurate and legible client records are kept in line with professional and legal requirements, paper and electronic
Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with Consultants, medical staff, nurse colleagues and other multi-agency professionals
