Job Title: Quality Manager Location: Birmingham Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE Contract: Full-time, permanent (39 hours per week) Monday–Thursday: 8:30 – 17:00 Friday: 8:30 – 16:00 Hybrid working (1–2 days per week from home) About the Role Trigon Recruitment are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the clients' education and training provision. This is a pivotal role within the organisation—ensuring that the client maintains the highest standards of quality, reduces risk, and remains compliant with the expectations of Ofsted, the ESFA, Awarding Organisations, employers, and learners. The successful candidate will be an advocate for best practice, deeply knowledgeable about current inspection frameworks, and proactive in identifying improvement opportunities. You'll work in close collaboration with the leadership team, operations staff, and external stakeholders to ensure their programmes deliver outstanding outcomes for learners and employers alike. Key Responsibilities Apply expert knowledge of Ofsted’s current and future frameworks to drive strategic quality improvement initiatives. Foster collaborative relationships between the Quality and Operations teams to embed robust quality assurance practices. Manage and develop positive working relationships with Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs). Own and maintain the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)—ensuring it reflects current priorities and is used effectively across the business. Co-author the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and organisational Position Statement in partnership with the Quality & Compliance Director. Lead and maintain Matrix accreditation, including oversight of Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) strategies. Analyse IQA feedback and quality assurance data to design and implement enhancements to curriculum, delivery, and learner experience. Support and monitor QAR performance, identify improvement opportunities, and report predictions and strategies throughout the year. Oversee learner progress, withdrawals, and breaks in learning—reviewing controls to mitigate risk and improve retention. Manage and respond to Complaints and Appeals processes—turning challenges into learning opportunities. Utilise feedback from learners and employers to identify strengths and areas for improvement—promoting positive outcomes. Oversee and guide IQA activities, ensuring risk-based planning and deep-dive analysis when needed. Drive continuous improvements in delivery models, including Functional Skills and contextualised maths and English. Monitor and assure the quality of Off-The-Job training records to reflect accurate learner progression. Use quality tools and insights to support staff performance management across the organisation. Define and maintain OTLA (Observation of Teaching, Learning & Assessment) and Standardisation procedures. Key Objectives / KPIs Continually improve quality across the entire learner journey—from initial engagement to completion—ensuring high standards in CEIAG, progress reviews, delivery, and evidence of learning. Enhance the clients reputation as a trusted provider of high-quality, industry-relevant education and training. Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall learner and employer experience while increasing QAR performance and learner outcomes. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven experience in a Quality Management role within the education or training sector. In-depth knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and quality assurance methodologies. Strong understanding of apprenticeship delivery and the regulatory landscape (ESFA, Awarding Bodies, EPAOs). Skilled at using data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
