An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Governance Department in NHS Forth Valley. The post plays a key and integral role in providing responsibility for clinical governance and reviewing adverse events within NHS Forth Valley and Health and Social Care Partnerships to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care and that learning from incidents is shared. A specific focus on Duty of Candour (DoC), Significant Adverse Event Reviews (SAER’s), reports and shared learning will be key aspects of the role. This involves working closely with the Senior Managers, Clinical and Non-Clinical staff in NHS Forth Valley and Health and Social Care Partnerships, as well as liaising with patients and carers across Forth Valley. The aim is to continuously improve systems, structures and processes of care delivery in accordance with national and local priorities. The post will provide support relating to clinical governance and facilitate and provide practical assistance, guidance and advice to all staff within NHS Forth Valley and Health and Social Care Partnerships in determining and undertaking activities associated with clinical governance, quality, adverse events, SAER’s, DoC and service development. The post will identify, plan, prioritise and support in the development and progress of the clinical governance framework and toolkit and support the Head of Clinical Governance in ensuring clinical governance and patient safety is a priority across NHS Forth Valley. The post holder must be an effective communicator and have a minimum of a degree in nursing or equivalent qualification. The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
