We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Dawlish. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a child with specific learning requirements, helping them succeed in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role:
In this role, you will work one-on-one with a student, collaborating closely with the class teacher to support the child’s academic, social, and emotional development. You will support the student in line with their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Your key responsibility will be to help the student engage with the curriculum, overcome any challenges, and gain confidence throughout their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual support to a student in both classroom and other settings.
* Assist with the delivery of lessons and help the student access the curriculum.
* Implement personalised strategies to support the student’s learning needs, as guided by the class teacher or SENCO.
* Track the student’s progress and share feedback with the teacher and parents.
* Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages the student’s well-being and development.
* Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the student’s needs are met.
* Support the student in developing social and communication skills.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 or SEN support role (ideal but not essential).
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with children.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive approach to addressing challenges and adapting to the student’s needs.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
What We Offer:
* Competitive hourly rate of £14.45 - £15.20, based on experience.
* Full-time, permanent position.
* A welcoming and supportive team environment.
* Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
* A fulfilling role where you can make a real difference in a child’s education.
* A focus on staff well-being and a healthy work-life balance.
If you’re passionate about supporting students and want to contribute to an inclusive learning environment, we would love to hear from you!
