Friday 0700-1230 (0700-1500 alternate weeks)
As we continue to expand and grow, we are looking for an experienced IT Support Analyst to join our onsite IT Department. You will be responsible for providing IT Support services to the full MTL site (c400+ users) in a mixed service desk / face to face environment; resolving technical problems from site employees, which will include all PC’s, servers and networks. You will ensure that all aspects of the manufacturing processes are supported from an IT perspective, whilst providing input to long term project plans.
You will have the ability and willingness to make decisions that benefit our end users in the business and the foresight to anticipate the effects these decisions will have.
About the role
1. Provide support to desktop PC’s, laptops, printers, phones, hardware and software
2. Provide 1st (20%), 2nd (70%) and 3rd (10%) to all users on site
3. Prioritising and monitoring IT issues
4. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and upgrade of hardware and software systems
5. Liaise with 3rd parties, service providers, suppliers and contractors to ensure that faults, requests, queries and complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently
6. Ensure that network services and protocols including DHCP, DNS and Active Directory are functioning optimally
7. Maintain internet firewall, web filtering engine and e-mail content control systems in order to ensure that access to inappropriate material is minimised and the risk of intrusion of the network is minimised
8. Maintain backup, virus protection and disaster recover policies
9. Provide clear communication, updates and translation to non-technical employees
10. Identify suitable products, solutions, suppliers and contractors for projects and obtain quotes to draw up detailed comparisons
About you
11. Experience in a similar Manufacturing, Engineering or Production environment
12. Experience of Microsoft Office and Office 365 products; Windows 10, 11 and Windows server 2016, 2019
13. Ability to translate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
14. Due to the nature of our Manufacturing facility, there will be requirements to work outside of “normal” business hours
15. A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
17. Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
18. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
