A highly-established business who have gone through a fast period of change are looking for a Accounts Assistant to join their team based near Chelmsford.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:
* Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees.
* Ensure that payroll records are accurate and comply with relevant laws and regulations Processing monthly payroll of 60 people on Sage
* Manage accounts payable by processing supplier invoices, verifying amounts, and ensuring timely payments.
* Handle accounts receivable by recording incoming payments and following up on overdue accounts.
* Prepare and send out invoices to clients and customers.
* Track and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payments.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
* Ensure that financial data is entered correctly in the accounting software.
* Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that the company’s records match the bank statements.
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations.
* Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Stay updated on changes in financial regulations that may affect the organization.
* Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
* Handle correspondence, filing, and documentation related to financial activities
