We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual interested in biology, image analysis and machine
learning to join the BBSRC funded project ‘Unlocking the complexity of organismal colour patterns using artificial
intelligence’. The project will make use of recent advances in machine learning and computer vision to develop new ways of
extracting and analysing high dimensional colour pattern information from images.
You will lead the development and testing of neural network models for computer vision for the processing and analysis of
organismal image data and be responsible for implementing these models in a user-friendly interactive software package.
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area along with experience of biological image
analysis. Experience of programming languages (e.g. R, Python) is also essential.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions
complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research,
teaching and student experience.
