An opportunity has arisen to recruit a post for a Pharmacy Technician in Aseptic Services to join the team comprising of, pharmacists, technicians, SATO's, ATO's and assistants delivering a comprehensive pharmaceutical aseptic service to the patients of South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation trust.We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with good interpersonal & organisational skills who would enjoy being part of a friendly dynamic team. You must be able to adhere to the strict personal requirements for clean room working.
Student Pharmacy Technicians due to qualify in Feb 2025 can apply for the post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in the preparation of extemporaneously prepared & aseptic products in the Production Unit at The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH). They will supervise training for SATO's, ATO's, Assistants, Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians & Pre-Registration Pharmacists. Working under the leadership of the senior technicians you will be expected to follow strict operating procedures in the production of chemotherapy regimens, intravenous nutritional products and other highly specialised drug products intended for the patients of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Applicants will be required to be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC or be able to register before employment begins. Applicants ideally will have experience of aseptic/clean room environments, be able to work methodically and have meticulous attention to detail. You must be willing to meet the strict personal requirements for clean room working and be manually and mentally dextrous to undertake aseptic preparation.In house training and accreditation will be provided to achieve the required level of competency; on-going validation of aseptic technique is a requirement of the post.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BTec/NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous experience working in pharmacy
Knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbal & written.
* Proven experience of following Standard Operating procedures.
* Numerate - able to do basic calculations.
* Understanding of GMP & Aseptic production
