Acorn by Synergie are recruiting for a Buyer initially on a temporary basis to join their client, a chemical manufacturer and supplier based in Runcorn.
The purpose of the role is to provide support to a busy purchasing department as the company have just had a new ERP system installed and there is a backlog of work relating to this.
Key duties will include:
* Assume responsibility for the packaging purchasing company wide across the UK
* As the role allows there will be other Indirect Procurement activities that will need to be undertaken.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple sites to align site packaging requirements with lead times and JIT deliveries from supplier
* Identifying problems and resolving any issues
* Formulae work to ensure all of the packaging systems work effectively
* Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers
* Proactively manage slow moving stock and quarantine material.
* Negotiating with assigned suppliers to ensure the best price and best payment terms are achieved for all orders
* Responsibility for inputting and processing orders through the system
* Liaise with suppliers and ensure all necessary supplier paperwork is obtained.
* Manage internal communication with all colleagues and the company's business sites regarding delivery of goods to site.
It is essential that the successful candidate has previous experience within a purchasing role, ideally packaging purchasing within a manufacturing environment, good communication and IT skills, the ability to work independently and hit the ground running and MUST be proficient in using Microsoft Dynamics D365 F & O
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
The rate of pay is negotiable dependant upon experience
Hybrid working is offered after initial training has been completed
The position is expected to continue for approx 6 months and there may be the opportunity for a permanent position
