Job Title: Social Worker – Learning Disabilities
Location: Blackpool Council Bickerstaffe Offices
Rate: £30.66 per hour
Hours: Mon to Thurs, 9am – 5pm & Fridays, 9am – 4.30pm.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Adult Social Care Learning Disability Team. The team works with adults and young people living in Blackpool and provides direct support as well as commissioning specialist support from providers.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will be working and supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities, completing Care Act Assessments and Care Act reviews. The role will be line managed by the Learning Disability Team Manager. The team comprises Adult Social Care staff from Blackpool Council and NHS Health staff from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, competent knowledge of the implementation of the Care Act 2014, and experience of managing and leading on safeguarding, managing risk, and care management. We are looking for a social worker who has experience of working with adults who have a learning disability and their families, is passionate about learning disabilities, supporting service users, staff teams, and collaborating with colleagues and partners.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful, you will need to be an effective team player, excellent communicator, and willing to use your energy, enthusiasm, and experience to make valuable contributions to the team and people we support. To be eligible for this role, you must have Social Work England registration and be eligible to work in the UK. You should hold a full UK driving license and have post-qualified experience. Additionally, you must possess a degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
