Infrastructure Analyst
Location: Liverpool or Manchester/Hybrid
Salary: £45K + Great Benefits
An Infrastructure Analyst is required for an established legal firm who have offices in both Liverpool and Manchester. The successful candidate will report to the Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager and will form part of the technical infrastructure team. The team are currently working with some of the latest technologies in the market, including a Software Defined WAN, Software Defined Datacentre, and migration of core applications to SAAS and IAAS platforms where suitable. The successful candidate will also closely align with the enterprise architect, project management office, and service desk teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the Service Delivery Manager – Infrastructure to develop and maintain the Operational Infrastructure across UK and International Offices.
2. Support Project Managers by providing technical guidance for the smooth implementation of Services and Products into the Architecture through the Project lifecycle from RFP to BAU Support.
3. Act as a point of escalation for Infrastructure Analysts, assisting in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues.
4. Embrace change defined by the IT Project Roadmap.
5. Create and maintain systems design and configuration documentation, including test plans and recovery methods for all systems.
6. Stay updated on infrastructure and security trends and developments.
Essential Qualifications:
1. A strong understanding of VMware management and maintenance.
2. A strong understanding of Microsoft Azure including Entra and application configuration.
3. A strong understanding of Microsoft Server technologies and associated services, including Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
4. A good level of networking knowledge, from a troubleshooting and routing perspective. Basic switch configuration knowledge would be desirable.
5. An understanding of Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies.
6. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Sites/Services, and native replication technologies.
7. Knowledge of Windows file services including DFSR.
8. A strong understanding of applications, HA technologies, and how to make applications highly available for BC/DR purposes.
9. Experience with server back-end configuration.
10. A good understanding of monitoring technologies including tools such as SolarWinds, SNMP, and MIB sets for service monitoring.
11. A good understanding of telephony and phone systems, including SIP trunking and routing.
12. An understanding/reference in the use of change management/problem management.
13. A strong analytical focus on troubleshooting, time, and task management.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. ITIL v3 Foundation
2. Microsoft Certified: AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-700
3. Office 365 – Exchange Online / Teams / Intune
4. Microsoft Single Sign-On (Native Azure / SAML) and Multi-Factor Authentication
5. Experience in deploying and managing Azure virtual machines
6. Familiarity with Mimecast
7. Experience with VMWare VSAN
8. Knowledge of Datacentre Technologies including power and cooling for efficient datacentre footprint.
9. An interest in Cyber / Information security; iManage10 / Cloud / Share
10. Remote Desktop Services
11. Prior experience with FortiGate firewalls
12. Familiarity with Aderant, BigHand
