Religious Education (RE) Teacher

About the Role
We are urgently seeking a dedicated and passionate RE Teacher to join our school community and inspire students across Key Stages 3 to 5. As an RE Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality lessons, fostering curiosity and understanding about religion, culture, and ethics. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled teacher to make an immediate impact within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teaching and Learning:
o Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons aligned with the curriculum, catering to the needs of all learners.
o Establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes effective learning and provides appropriate challenges for students.
o Support personalised learning and assessment strategies to ensure all students achieve their potential.
o Set and mark homework to extend and consolidate learning, providing meaningful feedback to students.
o Monitor student progress through regular assessments, target setting, and reporting, including attendance at parents’ evenings.
* Student Development:
o Foster the academic and social progress of students, promoting positive behaviour and mutual respect.
o Encourage students to engage in school activities and initiatives, contributing to their personal development.
* Collaboration and Contribution:
o Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement schemes of work and departmental plans.
o Support the school’s ethos by promoting a culture of high achievement and inclusion.
o Liaise with SENCO and other staff to provide appropriate support for students with additional needs.
* Form Tutor Role (if applicable):
o Monitor and support the academic and social progress of tutees.
o Ensure students adhere to uniform and equipment standards, and address attendance and punctuality issues.
o Engage with parents/carers to support student welfare and academic success.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an RE Teacher who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred).
* Has strong subject knowledge of Religious Education and an understanding of related pedagogy across the full age range.
* Demonstrates a commitment to high-quality teaching and continuous professional development.
* Has the ability to engage and inspire students through creative and effective lesson delivery.
* Is skilled in behaviour management and creating a positive learning environment.
