Description
Are you a Transport Manager or equivalent looking for an exciting move into a growing new area within a large, industry-leading organisation? We are looking for an Assistant Transport Manager to join this impressive site during its development phase, and we need someone to lead the change in Transport best practice for the overall improvement of the business.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the Transport team is fully operational and adhering to company requirements while performing day-to-day duties of financial reviews, weekly forecasting, and ensuring safety standards are maintained. You will lead the team in adhering to transport requirements and ensuring best practices are delivered.
Primarily centred around Waste Management, this company is expanding rapidly in the fields of Resource Recovery and Circular Economy, ensuring nothing truly goes to waste. They are leading key UK & Ireland sustainability projects as they look to recycle more materials ranging from Metals, Plastics, and Oil through to Hazardous Waste, identifying ways to utilise these to create clean energy and fully recycled products.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the Transport team in their duties such as transport admin, planning, customer query calls, debriefing drivers, and ensuring that transport operations are fully functional and operating correctly to company standards.
* Day-to-day management of financial reviews, weekly forecasting, focusing on safety and compliance, and managing P&L's on all transport-related duties for the business within the site area.
* Focus on ways for business improvement and best practices within Transport management and overall improvement of this team's functional practice.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Previous experience in a managerial position and leading a team.
* Experience within a Transport Manager position or similar and performing similar transport duties needed for this role.
* You will need to have a CPC certificate for this position.
