We have a new opportunity for a motivated and experienced Therapist or Nurse to join our dynamic Trauma Team at Barnet Hospital - part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post is full time, working 37.5 hours per week, but flexible working may be considered.
This is a newly created post at Barnet Hospital providing coordination of care for our cohort of Trauma patients. This will include working with the trauma team in ED to identify relevant patients and then supporting their journey through the hospital to discharge. We welcome applications from clinicians with experience in trauma, who are looking for a new challenge.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse or Therapist with proven experience of working with people with acute and complex needs - preferably within the acute care setting. Previous trauma rehab experience is beneficial, but not essential as a full induction, joint working opportunities and ongoing support will be provided from the friendly and dedicated staff within the trauma service.
This post will offer the opportunity to develop highly specialist skills in the management of trauma patients at all stages of their journey – fully embracing the benefits of high-quality therapeutic relationships. The post has a strong emphasis on communication and coordination as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team within the ED, critical care and ward settings, and excellent organisational skills will be essential.
The post holder will have the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities, which will include the provision of training and supervision of staff; the coordination of audits and service development projects, and high level communication across service areas within and external to the trust. A positive and flexible approach is essential.
The successful applicant will be joining an established Trauma Service including experienced doctors, nurses, therapists and support staff. They will receive support from the North East London and Essex Trauma Network Rehab Lead who is based at Barnet, and also from the matrons overseeing trauma at the hospital. There will also be the opportunity for joint working and support from the equivalent post holder on the Royal Free Hospital Site. The post holder will be encouraged to take an active role in current projects, including service development and evaluation; internal and external training; audit, policy development/review and research.
