Hull City Council is looking for an innovative leader who can create positive change in diverse public sector environment to be our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager. As the HSW Manager you will play a vital role in creating a culture of health, safety and wellbeing responsibility within our organisation.Responsibilities include:
Lead the development of and implement evidence based HSE policies and procedures, ensuring strict compliance with H&S law
Lead a professional team ensuring comprehensive risk assessments adhere to the latest regulatory requirements
Leading safety training programs and initiatives, and increasing employee engagement in safety practices
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate HSW into our diverse work processes increasing continuous improvement
Support Management Board and Member Committees and conduct HSW meetings ensuring prompt investigation of incidents, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Monitoring and reporting on HSW performance to senior management, Elected Members and Trade Unions using data-driven insights to provide professional direction to influence and effect changeWhat you'll bring
Experience in HSW management, with a deep understanding of H&S law and regulations and wellbeing best practice
Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to move forward change with effective engagement at all levels of an organisation
A record of evidence-led projects that have resulted in significant improvements in safety and environmental practices
A high level of positive energy and enthusiasm for the role
You will ideally hold a degree in a H & S related subject, be IOSH qualified and a member of IOSH, and have substantial experience within a Health and Safety role as a leader of people., Disability Confident
