About the Department:
The Methods Engineering department plays a critical role in ensuring efficient processing of critical items to the Formula One car. This is done through skilled engineers developing new methodologies to deliver the performance to the car. With a focus on right first time and quality, working with our design team, operations, and the race team to achieve our shared goals.
Role Overview:
As a Manufacturing Project Engineer Industrial Placement, you’ll play a critical role in driving change in design and operations to ensure consistent quality delivery of Formula One assemblies to the track. You will be a key part of our improvements and driving change across the company that will be evident in our on-track performance. This role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in the world of Formula 1 from an early stage in your career. The chance to work alongside some of the most talented engineers in the industry and to contribute to the development of a car that will compete on the world stage is incredibly exciting. It's a role that promises both professional growth and the thrill of being part of a high-performance team. Your Responsibilities:
* Assist and run projects supported by a Senior Projects Engineer.
* Work with, learn, and collaborate with multiple areas of the Team.
* Perform daily tasks to ensure metrics are available to drive decisions in Operations.
* Regularly communicate with engineers and project managers to meet all technical requirements.
* Lead, with support, projects that will speed the efficiency of the Team and delivery to the track.
* Be part of a team that will be running development and technology enhancements across the Team.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong problem-solving ability, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to read a technical drawing.
* Basic manufacturing knowledge.
* Ability to read data and provide feedback in a simple, easy-to-understand format.
* Strong background in mechanical or automotive engineering.
* Focus on either design or manufacturing.
* Solid understanding of CAD software and data analysis tools.
* Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects (highly desirable).
* Proactive problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication abilities.
