Job Purpose The purpose of the Facilities Support Person role is to ensure the effective maintenance, repair, and operational functionality of building facilities within a fast-paced factory or FMCG environment. The role supports the smooth running of the site by proactively addressing maintenance needs, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering strong communication with stakeholders at all levels. SHORTLISTING: early Jan 2025 INTERVIEWS ON SITE: mid-January 2025 START DATE: February 2025 HOURS: 32 HOURS A WEEK to be available between 6am and 6pm [[8 working hours a day, 4 days a week (working 4 of 7, changeable includes weekend cover on rotation)]] Duties include: 1. Maintenance and Repairs Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building facilities and equipment. Ensure all work complies with safety and operational standards. 2. Equipment and Tools Operate power tools and other equipment such as ladders, scissor lifts, and forklifts (training provided if necessary). Handle and maintain a personal toolkit, including screwdrivers and other hand tools. 3. Health & Safety Adhere to manual handling and working-at-height procedures. Conduct risk assessments and follow all health and safety regulations. 4. Key Holder Responsibilities Act as a key holder for the facility, ensuring secure access when required. 5. Reporting and Communication Use basic computer skills to report task completions and maintain accurate records. Communicate transparently and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. 6. Proactive Support Identify and address maintenance issues promptly. Offer adaptable support for varied facility-related tasks as needed. Skills include: • Full, valid UK driving licence. • Forklift licence and working-at-height training (desirable, or willingness to train). • Demonstrated experience in maintenance and repairs within a factory or FMCG environment. • Familiarity with operating power tools and equipment. • Proactive and solutions-oriented with a positive outlook. • Self-motivated, capable of working unsupervised and handling lone working scenarios. • Self-aware and adaptable to changing needs and priorities. • Competent in basic computer tasks such as reporting and email communication. • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Desirable Skills • Previous experience with scissor lifts and forklifts. • Familiarity with maintenance tasks specific to FMCG or similar environments.
