Job Summary: Our client is seeking a dedicated and versatile Multi-Skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team working within the social housing sector and looking to diversify and grow their business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, an inquisitive mindset, a can-do attitude, and the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure our clients' properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will work across various sites, handling everything from minor fabric repairs to basic plumbing maintenance. You will be a proactive problem solver with a commitment to delivering exceptional service. This role is fast-paced and varied, and you need to enjoy working in this environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a representative of our client for Facilities Maintenance, always providing a professional and courteous service.
2. Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
3. Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
4. Provide write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date and so that we can accurately bill our clients.
5. Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
6. Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
7. Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis, representing the Company in a courteous manner.
8. Provide a call-out response where required.
9. Conduct minor repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, and other internal and external structures.
10. Perform basic carpentry tasks such as door and lock adjustments, patching walls, and furniture repairs.
11. Conduct routine survey inspections to identify maintenance needs and proactively address potential issues.
12. Address basic plumbing issues, including repairing leaks to wastes, unblocking drains, and maintaining fixtures.
13. Carry out basic electrical checks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, inspecting sockets) in compliance with safety standards.
14. Carry out basic grounds maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, pressure washing, and removal of litter.
15. Maintain and clean any exterior items including tables, chairs, and parasols.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role is desirable but not essential; we will happily provide training for the right candidate.
2. A full UK driving license is required for site visits.
3. Capable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
